Unsun to play three festivals

Polish female-fronted band Unsun (featuring Ex-Vader guitar player Mauser) today announced three festival appearances for 2009. Besides the Summer Breeze Festival the band will play at the Wave Gothic meeting in Leipzig and at the Metal Female Voices Festival in Belgium.

Wolf feature new song from the upcoming album Ravenous at MySpace

The guys from Sweden’s Wolf have posted the song Curse You Salem on the band’s official MySpace page (where else?).

The track is featured on the new Wolf album called Ravenous which will be released end of February in Europe through Century Media Records.

Wolf will also shoot a videoclip for another track from the Ravenous album called Voodoo and release it in the near future.

Nightwish post Made In Hong Kong album cover

The Finnish band has posted the album cover for the upcoming live-album Made In Hong Kong (and in various other places) last week. The CD is supposed to be released in march, although I didn’t find any information on the Roadrunner Records website (Roadrunner Records is the American record label for Nightwish, Nuclear Blast the European).

Hello again my international readership.

Well, I haven’t touched the English part of my little Heavy Metal Blog for a long time. There was one simple reason for that: A complete re-worked German part of the website. Don’t be jealous, in a few weeks the Englisch part will feature a video column and CD-Reviews too - promised!

So, from now on I will post the international versions of my German posts as quick as possible (again) and I’m looking forward to get your feedback in the comment area of each post.

AC/DC UK tour dates 2009 announced

Finally AC/DC announce the first (and maybe only) UK dates for the Black Ice tour in 2009. The guys will be playing in London, Manchester and Birmingham.

April 14th - London O2 Arena
April 21st - Manchester M.E.N. Arena
April 23rd - Birmingham LG Arena

Tickets will be available from this Friday October 17th on. Who wants to see the guys live should be quick! Last week all tickets for the German shows were sold out within 12 minutes.

Metallica to play o2 World in Berlin as secret show?

As a big fan of Metallica I was positively surprised that Metallica are going to play a secret show on the day of the release (September 12th) of the tenth Metallica studio album Death Magnetic in Berlin, Germany.

Like every fan in Germany I wanted to know where the guys are playing and started a little research through the web. I found an article from the Berlin newspaper B.Z. which is dated back in May when nobody knew about the exact release date of Metallicas Death Magnetic album.

In this article the B.Z. claims that Metallica are going to play the opening show of the brand new venue o2 World in Berlin on September 12th.

The venue is huge. Approx. 17.000 people will be able to see the concert in the o2 World so their might be some rumors going on that tickets for this show will not only be available for MetClub members and Mission: Metallica members.

I expect a lot of competitions from radio stations to win free tickets and I also expect some tickets to be available in regular ticket shops.

New Motörhead album to feature members of Poison and Alice In Chains

A few weeks before the 20th official Motörhead album Motörizer will be available in stores more and more details are available.

This time Motörhead singer Lemmy announce that Poison guitar player C.C. DeVille and Alice In Chains bassist Mike Inez will be featured on the Motörizer album.

C.C. DeVille only needed one take to have his part recorded while Mike Inez needed three takes to get his bass playing done.

The new record will be in stores in North America on August 26th, in Germany on August 29th and the rest of Europe on September 1st.

Trivium start working on a video for Down From The Sky

My current favorite band Trivium (the new album Shogun is a killer) just started working on a video for the song Down From The Sky.

Guitar player Corey, who I met for a video interview about the new Trivium album Shogun, left a short message about the video.

We want to make a video that will crush every single music video we have ever made. We want this video to capture our energy and establish us as a bunch of hot, tanned guys from Florida with baby arms in our pants.
